License Generation Options

In the planning stage, you also need to decide the license generation method you will use. Sentinel RMS provides the following options to generate licenses:

NOTE    The License Generation components are not available in RMS SDK ISO. These are distributed separately as Electronic Delivery via Ordering process. Contact Technical Support for more details.

WlscGen

This is a Windows-based graphical tool to generate licenses with the following major characteristics:

>It can be accessed by the following two categories of users:

•Administrator - Can create license generation templates and create users.

•Clerk - Can generate licenses using the templates.

>Allows you to generate one license at a time. Suitable for generating licenses in small quantity or for testing purposes.

lscgen

A command line-based license generator that is available for Windows, Linux and generates licenses in a batch.

Customized License Generator (Using API)

You can create your own customized license generator using the license generation API functions. This will be useful under following circumstances:

>You want a license generator with specific license generation options.

>You want to generate licenses in bulk.

>You want to use additional license encryption options.

NOTE   Be aware that WlscGen, lscgen, ulscgen, and the license generation library cannot be used to generate licenses for the Connected (Cloud LM) and Lease modes.
